TOD Not Working in Spain: Fix for Arab and Gulf Expats (2026)
TOD not working in Spain is one of the most searched streaming problems among Arab expats, Moroccan workers, and Gulf tourists in Madrid, Barcelona, and the Costa del Sol. Spain is home to a large North African community and receives millions of visitors from MENA countries every year, and all of them hit the same geo-block on a Spanish IP address.
Yes, you can watch TOD from Spain. This guide shows you the proven solution for 2026, why TOD not working in Spain occurs, and what changed in late 2025 that made standard VPNs stop working.
Editor’s Choice for TOD in Spain

- Get SafeShell VPN through our link and choose a plan — you are covered by the 7-day money-back guarantee
- Download the SafeShell app on your phone, laptop, Smart TV, or Apple TV and log in
- Switch on App Mode in the settings so the TOD app is routed through SafeShell

TOD Error Codes in Spain
Error 2004 in Spain is the primary geo-enforcement and VPN-detection error. It means TOD has identified either a Spanish IP or a VPN datacenter server. SafeShell VPN, with its dedicated TOD service, is designed to pass both checks.
Error 1400 in Spain is a content access restriction with the same underlying cause. The same setup applies.
Error 1108 in Spain is a session authentication failure. Sign out of TOD completely, reconnect SafeShell, and sign back in. See our TOD error 2004 guide for more.
Watching TOD in Spain on Smart TV
Many Arab and North African expat households in Spain watch Premier League and Champions League on a Smart TV. SafeShell VPN has apps for Smart TV and Apple TV, so you can connect directly on the TV and open TOD on the big screen.
Install the SafeShell app on your TV, log in with the same account you use on your phone, choose a server in your TOD region, and connect. Our TOD TV on Smart TV abroad guide covers every TV type.
Best VPNs When TOD Is Not Working in Spain
1. SafeShell VPN — Editor’s Choice
SafeShell VPN is proven to work with TOD. It offers a dedicated TOD service, App Mode for streaming apps, its own ShellGuard protocol, and no bandwidth limits, which matters during a 90-minute live match.
One subscription covers up to 5 devices, including Smart TV and Apple TV apps. Every plan comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee. Try SafeShell VPN risk-free here.
2. CometVPN Native Residential
CometVPN routes your connection through real home internet addresses in the UAE or Qatar with its Native Residential option. TOD is far less likely to flag a household IP than a datacenter server, which makes it a strong second choice.
Native Residential data is billed per GB on top of the base plan. A full HD football match uses around 3 to 5 GB, so use it only while you watch TOD.

Why Is TOD Not Working in Spain?
TOD TV is licensed exclusively within the MENA region, and Spain is not part of the licensed beIN TOD territory. Every Spanish ISP — Movistar, Orange, Vodafone, and MasMovil — is blocked at the IP level regardless of subscription status, account age, or payment history.
The Moroccan community in Spain, the largest in Europe, is especially affected by TOD not working in Spain. Many families keep active TOD subscriptions from their time in Morocco or Gulf countries and rely on it for Champions League, Premier League, and Arabic content.
According to Sports Video Group coverage of the extended beIN Premier League deal, the exclusive beIN MENA rights run through the 2027-28 season, so the Spain geo-block will not change in the near future.
Why Standard VPNs Stopped Working for TOD in Spain
Before November 2025, Arab expats in Spain could fix TOD not working in Spain with any major VPN pointing to a UAE or Qatar server. TOD only verified the IP country.
The November 2025 TOD update added active VPN-traffic detection alongside the geo-block. The system now identifies the datacenter IP ranges used by major commercial VPN providers and returns error 2004, 1400, or 1108. That is why we recommend SafeShell VPN, which runs a dedicated TOD service and keeps its servers updated for it.
Why is TOD not working in Spain?
TOD not working in Spain is a geo-block — Spain is outside the licensed TOD MENA territory. Since November 2025, TOD also detects and blocks standard VPN datacenter IPs. SafeShell VPN, which runs a dedicated TOD service, is the proven way around both.
Does a VPN work for TOD in Spain?
Standard VPNs stopped reliably working for TOD in Spain after the November 2025 detection rollout. A VPN built for TOD, such as SafeShell VPN with App Mode, works because it is maintained specifically for the TOD app.
Can Gulf tourists watch TOD in Spain?
Yes. Install SafeShell VPN on your phone and laptop before you travel, so you can test it at home first. In Spanish hotels or holiday rentals, connect SafeShell on your device and open TOD as usual.
